Ali Mohammed Al-Sharifa Al-Hammadi writes “Islam is a call to peace, reform, and justice”.

Ali Mohammed Al-Sharifa Al-Hammadi writes “Islam is a call to peace, reform, and justice”.

In the editorial of Issue No. (11) of Al-Arab Magazine (International Edition) June 2026, the great Arab writer Ali Mohamed Al-Shorafa Al-Hammadi talks about the basic pillars of Islam that constitute the essence of the true religion. He says that Islam is an integrated, rational, and spiritual way of life that achieves a balance between matter and spirit. He says that God has sent His Prophet Mohamad as a mercy to the world, not a messenger of war and oppression. Rather, he sent him as a teacher who guides people from darkness to light.

Al-Shorafa Al-Hammadi continues his talk to raise another very important issue and propose the appropriate treatment for it: who has the judgment in the Hereafter regarding worship. He says: "The judgment is for Allah alone, He is the Knowing, the Unseen, and He is the One who legislates and manages, and people have to read His book, no one has authority over His law, and no change in His judgment."

Al Shorafa then concludes by emphasizing the call of Islam, saying: "Islam does not call for violence or revenge, but for reform, justice, and its reference is the Holy Quran, which is the guiding light, and the supreme reference. Those who followed it survived, and those who turned away from it went astray. The Islam that Muhammad brought is the same as what Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and all the other prophets called for. It does not differ except in form, but the content is the worship of God alone and adherence to science and the path of truth."

It's not just rituals.

AlShorafa Al-Hammadi says in the opening details (11) that "Islam is not just a religion practiced in rituals; it is an integrated approach to life, based on inviting people to peace, justice, mercy, and good deeds. Its essence is to believe in the One God who has no partner, to reject injustice and aggression, and to adhere to the values of good and truth. Islam does not teach hatred; rather, it builds in man the creation of mercy and guides him to coexistence with others, enhancing the value of charity as a basis for human relations. It is a sincere call to good life, not based on hollow rituals, but on good deeds, pure thought, and deep faith."

Islam is a rational approach.

Al-Shorafa Al-Hammadi continues his speech, saying: "At a time when people reconsider their concepts and values, and begin to use their minds to understand themselves and the world, Islam appears as a rational and spiritual approach, which achieves a balance between matter and spirit, and calls for a new beginning, in which man lives with inner tranquility, no matter how severe the challenges around him, whoever takes the path of faith, finds comfort and peace in his heart. As for those who choose corruption and move away from the path of God, he inherits himself narrowness and turmoil. God made mercy, justice, and peace authentic values, which are not replaced, and no one may distort or exploit them."

The Messenger of Mercy, not Tyranny

On the mission of the Prophet, Al-Shorafa Al-Hammadi says: "Allah sent his prophet Mohamed as a mercy to the worlds, not a messenger of war and tyranny; rather, he sent him as a teacher who guides people from darkness to light. He taught them the Qur 'an, and did not have the unseen or the intercession, but was a man inspired to him, commanded to communicate, not to control people or their destinies, and just as the message is based on mercy, it also focuses on the unity of humanity, as all people are of one origin, differentiating between them only by piety and good deeds, and therefore, the essence of true religion is the same in all messages: worshiping God alone, spreading good, renouncing polytheism and corruption. "

Islam does not grant indulgences

As for the one who has the rule and legislation, AlShorafa Hammadi said: "The rule is for God alone, he is the unseen knowledgeable, and he is the one who legislates and manages, and people must read his book, and work their minds to understand his verses, and be guided by his orders, no one has authority over his law, and no change in his rule, even intercession is not owned by a prophet or a guardian except with God's permission, and whoever thinks that other than God has intercession, has gone astray, Islam does not grant anyone indulgences, but rather makes survival linked to faith and work, not affiliation or begging humans."

Islam calls for reform and justice

On the call of Islam, the writer Ali Al-Shorafa Al-Hammadi said: "In crises, Islam does not call for violence or revenge, but for reform and justice, and peace begins from within the soul, and then it is reflected on society, and it is not achieved by violence, but by knowledge, patience, and a good word. Even real jihad is not a bloodshed, but a self- discipline and a struggle against passion, and a confrontation of falsehood with wisdom and good preaching. Islam does not incite war, but rather consolidates peace, does not ignite the fire of hatred, but extinguishes it with mercy and justice. "

"Following the Quran is salvation, and turning away from it leads to hardship

As for the Holy Quran, Al-Shorafa Al-Hamadi says: "The Holy Quran is the guiding light, and the supreme reference, in it is a statement of everything, and whoever followed it survived, and whoever turned away from it went astray, and the true Muslim is the one who makes the Quran his companion, and turns away from injustice and harm, and at the time of sedition it is an example of peace and piety. The relationship between men and women in Islam is based on affection and mercy, not on domination or exploitation, but on cooperation and solidarity, not injustice in the religion of God, but on justice befitting human dignity."

Religion with Allah is Islam

Regarding the true religion that came from Allah, Ali Al-Shorafa Al-Hammadi says: "The Islam that Mohamed came with is the same as what Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and all the other prophets called for; they differ only in form. As for the content, it is the worship of Allah alone and adherence to science and the path of truth. Allah has completed this religion, completed His grace, and revealed the Qur 'an as the seal of books. There is no need for a new religion, and it is not permissible to change or circumvent the commands of Allah. The Prophet Mohamed was not a god to be worshipped, nor a sacred Lord, but a servant of Allah, who died as humans die, and left us the Book of Allah and His Sunnah to be the light by which we are guided, and whoever made him an intercessor without Allah's permission, or thought that he had salvation just for kinship or love, he violated the Qur 'an. No one has intercession or account except Allah, and only he is accepted by those who come with a pure heart."

Islam builds communities on mercy

As for the correct Islamic dealings with others, Al-Shorafa Al-Hammadi said: "Islam does not know terrorism, and it does not justify killing, intimidation, or oppression. Rather, it is a call to knowledge, to help others, and to build societies on mercy. God has ordered us to reform ourselves before we call others, and to spread the good word, not sedition, because sedition kills peace from its roots. On the Day of Resurrection, people stand in God's hands for reckoning. Only good deeds and faith intercede for them. Whoever believes and does good deeds enters paradise, and whoever disbelieves and persists in his injustice has hell and a miserable fate. Islam does not sell paradise to anyone, nor does it belong to a sect, but it is for those who deserve it by their faith and piety."

Islam is a religion of peace that does not know aggression.

Al-Shorafa Al-Hammadi concluded his speech in this proposal, saying: "Finally, war in Islam is not waged for the sake of conquest, but for self-defense and the oppressed, and if the enemy tends to peace, we must have peace, and even in fighting, Islam orders us to have mercy, so he does not mutilate the prisoners, nor insult them, but rather teaches and honors them, so is Islam, a call to the wise, not a weapon in the hands of fanatics, and it is a way of survival, not sedition, and a message to the worlds, not a sect without another. Whoever wants peace and seeks the truth will find in Islam the way that does not extinguish its light, and does not change its essence. It is a religion of reason, justice, and mercy, not a call to hatred or greed in the world, but a call to a sincere heart that seeks God sincerely.
